Space is still available for Red Cross swim lessons at the Los Alamitos High School pool, 3591 Cerritos Ave. Two sessions beginning July 21 and Aug. 4 cost $35 and in addition to beginning swim, there are specialized classes for adults, synchronized, water polo and junior lifeguards. Open swim is also available weekdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. The Recreation and Community Services Department is offering lap swimming at the USA Water Polo National Aquatics Center at the Joint Forces Training Base, 11200 Lexington Drive.
