* Update--After the Avenger’s 75-72 loss to San Jose, Coach Stan Brock said he wanted his team to have more than pride on its mind against Buffalo this week, in the last regular-season game. “They should play like it’s the last game of their lives,” Brock said. “And for some of them it will be the last game of their lives.” The loss all but eliminated the Avengers from the playoffs but a victory would keep the Avengers’ postseason hopes alive for the final week of the season--which is also their bye week. Buffalo is coming off its bye week and brings a four-game winning streak into tonight’s game and holds the last playoff spot. Avenger quarterback Todd Marinovich, who left last week’s game with bruised ribs, is questionable, as is lineman Victor Hall, who has a neck injury. Chris Jackson needs 128 yards receiving to break the Arena Football League’s rookie record set by current Miami Dolphin Oronde Gadsden (1,335) in 1998 with the Portland Forest Dragons.
