Fans Will Pay Price for Those Laker Rings
I hope the news about the new, higher ticket prices for Laker games means that Jerry Buss has changed his mind about trying to keep the Lakers under the $55-million luxury cap, and that they are pursuing a first-rate power forward like Brian Grant. If Laker fans are to pay the highest ticket prices in the league, then they deserve to watch a team of premium players for those premium prices.

Dear Jerry Buss,
I saw in a recent article that, to celebrate L.A.’s championship, the Lakers have increased ticket prices by $10 per ticket.
Well, here is a message for you--stop being so damn greedy. As if you guys haven’t made enough money from the Laker fans both in this city and worldwide. You are making the prospect of attending a Laker game (Nirvana for most of us, including myself) a nearly unattainable goal. Hey, we understand that this is also a business, but you are spitting in the face of your grass-roots fans.
By the way, I’ve seen the guys that sit in the expensive seats--they’re too busy checking out Salma Hayek and Ed Norton or talking on their cell phones to cheer. Why don’t you give us real fans a chance?
