Pesticide Use

* Re “Local Agriculture Faces Challenges of World Changes,” July 9.

Although the article by Richard Pidduck does a thorough job outlining the financial problems facing agriculture, he skims over a very large issue: that is, the moral and the ethical use of pesticides when they impact our neighbors, their children and the environment in general.

The article also ignores the plight of organic farmers in the county who have taken the moral and ethical high ground as to the use of toxic and highly dangerous chemicals. They need all the support we can give them; they truly are our good neighbors.
