The Brea Olinda School Board bestowed the Leonard McCain Friend of Education Award on Councilwoman Lynn Daucher Monday for her support of education during her tenure, first as a school board member, then as a member of the council.
Daucher served on the school board from 1981 until 1994, when she was elected to the City Council. While on the school board, she helped oversee financing the construction of Brea Olinda High School.
Daucher won the Republican nomination for the 72nd District Assembly Seat in March, and will face opponents in November.
