NetZero in Westlake Village, which provides Internet access supported by advertising and commerce, said it will launch free Internet access service in Canada this fall.

Working with Canadian business partners, NetZero is in the process of building an Internet portal with Canadian content to serve the needs of Canadian users. NetZero said it will provide local dial-up access for Canadian Internet users in more than 3,000 cities.

“Canada is the natural next market for NetZero, as Canada is one of the most wired nations on earth,” said Mark R. Goldston, NetZero chairman and CEO. “This initiative represents NetZero’s first expansion of service outside the U.S. and gives us the potential to attract a large new audience for NetZero’s Internet service.”
