The City Council will charge Jerry Wallace $4,340 for cleaning up his property on Katella Avenue in June. The city had repeatedly asked Wallace to remove from his yard such debris as building materials, chicken coops, old clothing, papers, bottles, engines and inoperable cars from his yard.

At one point, Wallace had removed much of the junk but it piled up again. In March, the city attorney filed criminal charges and in June, Orange County Superior Court Judge Michael McCartin ruled that the city could take action. Several truckloads of trash were removed from Wallace’s property.

The city will charge Wallace for labor and rental equipment used to clean his yard.
