Russell Stern Named Chief of Escrow.com
Former Western Digital Corp. executive Russell R. Stern has been named chief executive of Escrow.com Inc., a Santa Ana provider of online services for businesses that distrust electronic commerce but still want to buy big-ticket items online.
Stern had served as co-chief operating officer at Western Digital and had been considered one of two internal contenders to head the Irvine hard drive manufacturer. He resigned last October. In January, Western selected the other top internal candidate, Matthew E. Massengill, as president and CEO.
Escrow.com is a unit of Micro General Corp., which is 70% controlled by Irvine title insurance giant Fidelity National Financial Inc.
