* Hampton Industries Inc., a maker of sportswear, will close its last U.S. manufacturing plant to cut costs as it shifts production to less-expensive factories in El Salvador. Kinston, N.C.-based Hampton will shut the plant in Washington, N.C., in August, eliminating 45 jobs, or 19% of the company’s work force.
