The bodies of two men were discovered on a Los Feliz street Monday, about two miles from a wrecked and blood-stained car, Los Angeles police said Tuesday.

The bodies of a black man and a white man, both in their 20s, were found in the 4300 block of Clayton Avenue about 5:10 a.m. Monday with gunshot wounds, police said.

Homicide Det. Andrew Teague said both men had moved out of the area, and it had not been determined whether they had returned to live here or were just visiting. Their names were not released, pending notification of relatives.

A car was found abandoned near Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilton Place, apparently damaged when it crashed into a concrete foundation below a fence, Teague said.

The car and the bodies were discovered around the same time Monday, police said, but they have not been able to locate any witnesses who can establish a connection between the two.

“People heard quite a bit, but didn’t see anything,” Teague said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call (213) 847-4261.
