* For the Home--The sizable Santa Barbara Home and Garden Show will set up shop this weekend at the Earl Warren Showgrounds. The 10th annual event offers visitors a chance to shop and compare the many ways to improve their abodes. More than 100 exhibits will include architectural products and services, landscaping displays, spas and gazebos, patio furniture and lots more. There will also be a continual cooking show, wood-carving demonstrations, barbecue, live music and an endangered animal show. Hours: Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The fairgrounds are just off the Ventura Freeway at the Las Positas Road exit. $4 general; children under 12 free. (800) 237-0551.

* Outdoors--On Sunday, the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will celebrate the opening of its Caroline Hazard Nature Trail, which focuses on the oak woodland, riparian woodland and stream habitats found on museum grounds. The trail is outfitted with 11 information stations that introduce key ecological concepts, highlight seasonal changes and encourage appreciation and conservation of natural resources. Special activities will be held from noon to 4 p.m. The museum is at 2559 Puesta Del Sol Road. Free. 682-4711.

* Jazz--The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra will give a concert Monday at the Lobero Theatre, 33 E. Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara. Led by famed trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, the orchestra will perform selections from its vast repertory, including works by Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Thelonious Monk.
