THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Wednesday:

BREA

* Brea Mall: Willful cruelty to children was reported at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday. A burglary was also reported at 5:27 p.m.

* West Imperial Highway: Malicious mischief was reported in the 100 block at 6:58 p.m.

DANA POINT

* Dana Strand Road: A 19-year-old man was cited on suspicion of having a campfire on the beach in the 34000 block at 12:50 a.m. Monday.

* Ritz Carlton Drive: An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at 4 p.m. Monday.

FULLERTON

* Associated Road: A petty theft was reported in the 300 block at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday.

* West Commonwealth Avenue: A grand theft was reported in the 3500 block at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday.

GARDEN GROVE

* Orangewood Avenue: A Garden Grove man was arrested for stealing newspapers that were being collected for recycling in the 10800 block at 3 a.m. Friday. Police were conducting a surveillance of the location due to numerous previous thefts. Police discovered stolen paper from other locations in the suspect’s vehicle.

LAGUNA BEACH

* South Coast Highway: A gay pride rainbow flag was burned outside a business in the 1200 block at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday. Police have listed the incident as a hate crime.

* South Coast Highway: A Fontana man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness in the 100 block at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday.

* Forest Avenue: A business owner reported a customer passed a bad check for $267 in the 200 block at 6:18 p.m. Monday.

LA HABRA

* Beach Boulevard: A petty theft was reported in the 1300 block at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday.

PLACENTIA

* East Chapman Avenue: A person was reported throwing cigarettes onto a neighbor’s property at 12:48 p.m. Tuesday.

* Cobb Avenue: Someone found two empty money bags in the front of her residence at 1:17 p.m. Tuesday.

SAN CLEMENTE

* Avenida Pico: Deputies responded to a report of teens possibly burglarizing a school in the 700 block at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies determined that no crime occurred.

* Avenida Mariposa: A woman reported someone hit her car in a traffic accident and left the scene near North El Camino Real at 8:15 p.m. Monday.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

* Calle la Purisma: A man reported at 5:40 p.m. Sunday that his parked car was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the 31000 block . The incident reportedly occurred between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m.

* Del Obispo Street: Deputies detained six teenage boys for possible involvement in a shoplifting incident at a store near Los Rios Street at 6:55 p.m. Sunday. A search of the teens uncovered no stolen items, and they were released.

STANTON

* Dale Avenue: A terrorist threat was reported in the 10400 block at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday.

* Pacific Avenue: A robbery was reported in the 8800 block at 2:11 p.m. Wednesday.

YORBA LINDA

* Clearwater Drive: A petty theft from an automobile was reported in the 5700 block at 7:48 a.m. Tuesday.

* Denver Avenue: Malicious mischief was reported in the 4000 block at 3:14 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports: Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Irvine, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Orange, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Tustin and Westminster.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department makes incident reports available on the Web. Go to https://www.ocsd.org and click on “Sheriff’s Blotter.” Incident reports are updated every few minutes and cover the cities of Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton and Villa Park, as well as the county’s unincorporated areas.
