U.S. Cancels Parties in Jordan, Belgium

American Fourth of July celebrations in Jordan and Belgium were canceled because of the threat of terrorist attack, the State Department said in a statement. The annual party at the Amman residence of the U.S. ambassador to Jordan was canceled to “minimize the chances of incident,” the statement said. In Brussels, the U.S. Embassy won’t hold its annual street fair because of a “worldwide caution.”
