The Police Officers’ Assn. presented Officer Mario “Bobby” Miramontes with the 1999 Officer of the Year Award.
Miramontes, a 14-year veteran, is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as field training officer.
During his career, he has also worked as a detective, specializing in property crimes.
Miramontes is a responsible, hard-working police officer, said Sgt. Jim Perry of the Fountain Valley Police Department.
Last year, Miramontes traveled to Thailand with his church group to teach English to children in their school system.
