Disneyland Wages
Re “Labor Crunch Looms Over Magic Kingdom,” Feb. 21:
Except for the first paragraph mentioning that Disneyland is offering to pay its employees a $500 fee for finding new employees, which is “more than a week’s wages for most park workers,” and the Disneyland Hotel paying its dishwashers $8 per hour, you did not provide more specific wage data at Disneyland.
In reality, aren’t Disneyland’s service-oriented employees paid approximately minimum wage?
Isn’t that the real and compelling reason why they will have difficulty retaining qualified employees who can afford to live within commuting distance?
