Brea Olinda, Basketball
Trotter, the Stanford-bound 6-foot-3 senior, tallied 28 points, 18 rebounds, four assists and three
blocked shots in Brea’s 52-44 victory over Redondo Union in the
Southern California Regional Division II final, helping the Ladycats reach their third consecutive state final. Trotter averaged 20 points, 14 rebounds and three blocked shots in the Ladycats’ three regional playoff victories last week.

Named MVP of the Brea tournament, she struck out 11 in a 3-2 victory over Manhattan Beach Mira Costa in the final.

Set an Irvine Invitational meet record in the pole vault by seven inches, clearing 10 feet 7 inches on Saturday.
Jeff Wootton
Marina, Volleyball
Wootton helped the Vikings win last weekend at the San Diego Tournament of Champions, tallying 73 kills in four two-game sweeps in the last day to help Marina win the title. Wootton, who will play at Long
Beach
State next season, had 21 kills in the final, a 15-7, 17-15 victory over El Toro. The tournament featured Orange County preseason top-10 teams Newport Harbor, Corona del Mar, Santa Margarita and Capistrano Valley.

Won two events and earned male athlete of the meet honors at the Santa Ana City Invitational on Saturday.

Helped Spartans win Loara tournament title game, hitting a grand slam in the 12th for an 8-3 victory over Lakewood.
