Compass Aerospace Appoints CEO
* Douglas Solomon has been appointed chief executive of Compass Aerospace Corp., succeeding Alexander Hogg, who resigned last week. Compass, a Long Beach-based maker of precision parts for the aerospace industry, said Hogg left to pursue other business interests. Solomon, a Compass board member, was managing director of Macluan Capital Corp.
The company also appointed John Reimers executive vice president and chief operating officer. Reimers is a former senior vice president of operations and administration for Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, Ala.
* Kevin Tsujihara has been named to the newly created position of executive vice president of new media at Warner Bros. He will have added responsibility for all new-media endeavors and initiatives, including Warner Bros. Online and Entertaindom, in addition to his current strategic planning and new business development duties.
* SmithGroup Co., a Los Angeles-based architecture firm, has named Philip Jaffarian director of operations. Jaffarian most recently was senior design and engineering manager for Walt Disney Co.’s Disney Regional Entertainment division in Burbank.
SmithGroup also named Mark McVay and Edmund Einy senior designers in the firm’s Los Angeles office. McVay formerly worked at Richard Meier & Partners, which designed the Getty Center. Einy worked at Johnson Fain Partners in L.A.
