‘I Care’ Award Nominations Sought
The Ventura County Child Abuse Prevention Council is accepting nominations for its “I Care” award, issued annually to honor people especially dedicated to the cause.
The 45-member advocacy council, which tracks child abuse prevention legislation and offers training on reporting abuse, will accept nominations until April 7 and present the award at its April 28 conference in Camarillo.
The purpose of the award is to recognize teachers, counselors, child-care givers, therapists and others dedicated to keeping children safe from abuse.
“It’s nice to acknowledge someone who has done more than their share for kids,” council treasurer Mari McBride said.
To receive a nomination form, call 677-5403 or mail a nomination letter to CAPC, P.O. Box 7306, Ventura 93006.
