Slow Start in Boulder for Ramseys’ Book
The book by the parents of JonBenet Ramsey is selling slowly in the couple’s former hometown of Boulder, Colo. The Boulder Book Store had sold only eight copies of “The Death of Innocence” by closing Friday--hours after the book’s release. Other bookstores in town described sales as less than brisk. The book, however, was listed at No. 13 on the Amazon.com best-seller list Saturday. John and Patsy Ramsey, who now live in Atlanta, say they wrote the book to publicize errors made by police in their investigation into the Dec. 26, 1996, death of 6-year-old JonBenet. Police have said the Ramseys are under suspicion in the slaying. The couple have steadfastly maintained their innocence.
