THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG
The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Thursday:
ANAHEIM
* Brookhurst Street: Vandalism was reported in the 1300 block at 8:09 a.m. on Thursday.
BREA
* South Berry Street at West Mercury Lane: An injury accident was reported at 8:47 a.m. Wednesday.
* Brea Mall: Petty theft was reported at Macy’s at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY
* Harbor Boulevard: Someone used a stolen credit card to buy $7,690 worth of stereo equipment from a shop in the 16600 block at 2:08 p.m. Monday.
* Magnolia Street: Someone stole $425 from a Winchell’s in the 17000 block at 2:21 a.m. Tuesday.
FULLERTON
* Bastanchury Road at Euclid Street: Police responded to a report of animal cruelty at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday. A subject was reported to be shooting a possum with a bb gun.
* East Chapman Avenue: A burglar alarm went off in the 1200 block at 7:57 p.m. Tuesday.
* West Commonwealth Avenue: Police responded to a report of a transient problem in the 1800 block at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
HUNTINGTON BEACH
* Fifth Street: Someone was using forged checks in the 200 block at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday.
* Marken Lane: Police said a woman has been sending threatening e-mails from the 17400 block at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday.
LAGUNA BEACH
* Anita Street: A British tourist reported that someone stole her passport, credit cards and cash from her wallet after she left it at a restaurant in the 200 block at 5:49 p.m. Wednesday.
* South Coast Highway: Officers arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of committing grand theft auto, receiving stolen property, and possessing narcotics and drug paraphernalia after staking out his house to serve an arrest warrant in the 600 block at 9:53 p.m. Wednesday.
LAGUNA HILLS
* Lake Forest Drive: A sofa and two sectionals valued at $750 were stolen from an alley behind a business in the 23000 block between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Monday. The theft was reported at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
LA HABRA
* South Dexter Street: A burglary was reported in the 100 block at 7:21 a.m. Tuesday.
* Hazel Street at Erna Avenue: Police responded to a report of illegal solicitation at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday.
MISSION VIEJO
* La Paz Road: A metal cash register was stolen from a business in the 27200 block, it was reported at 7:40 p.m. Sunday. The rear window of the business was smashed.
ORANGE
* Ryals Lane: A suspicious car was reported in the 19000 block at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday.
* Lewis Drive: A stolen car was found in the 20000 block at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
RANCHO SANTA
MARGARITA
* Oso Parkway: A laptop computer and cash receipts were reported stolen at 9 a.m. Sunday from a business in the 28000 block. The total loss was valued at $5,000. There are no suspects.
* Santa Margarita Parkway: Four people reportedly stole cases of beer and ran through the rear fire exit of a store in the 31000 block at 11:15 p.m. Saturday.
STANTON
* Beach Boulevard: A burglary was reported in the 10200 block at 9:48 a.m. on Thursday.
VILLA PARK
* Wulff Drive: A burglary alarm was triggered in the 10000 block at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday.
YORBA LINDA
* La Crescenta at La Homa: An accident with no injuries was reported at 8:14 a.m. Wednesday.
Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports: Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Garden Grove, Irvine, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Placentia, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Tustin and Westminster.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department makes incident reports available on the Web. Go to https://www.ocsd.org and click on “Sheriff’s Blotter.” Incident reports are updated every few minutes and cover the cities of Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton and Villa Park, as well as the county’s unincorporated areas.
