The Yorba Linda and Placentia chambers of commerce are calling on local school officials to talk with the public about important issues facing the district.

School overcrowding, the need for new campuses and the district’s ongoing search for a new superintendent are all issues that should be addressed openly with the public, said chamber members.

The chambers has invited Placentia-Yorba Linda School District officials to speak at a Community Education Forum on Thursday at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

“We thought of it as an opportunity for parents to get answers from the horse’s mouth,” said Annette Gross, who helped organize the event as a member of the Education Committee of the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce.

“It’s open communication, and that’s always good.”
