Girl, 3, Nearly Drowns in Pool
A 3-year-old stopped breathing after nearly drowning in a family pool but was revived, authorities said.
The girl was at a family gathering in the 20300 block of Fullbright Place midafternoon Sunday when she wandered into the backyard pool, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. When paramedics arrived shortly after 3:20, family members had pulled the child out of the water and resuscitated her.
The girl was airlifted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where she was in fair condition, Humphrey said.
