EVENTS OF THE WEEK

City Section track and field championships, today at Van Nuys Birmingham High--Woodland Hills Taft is favored to win the boys’ title; and Taft, Birmingham and Reseda Cleveland are the leading contenders for the girls’ team championship. The top three individual finishers in each event qualify for the state finals at Cerritos College on June 3. Field events begin at 4 p.m., running events at 5:30.
