Northridge Begins Upgrading Facilities

Construction is underway at Cal State Northridge to renovate the existing athletic training facilities, a project expected to be completed in July.

The project is being funded largely by an $80,000 donation the university received last month from Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center. Additional donations are expected to help fund the project, which will include renovated locker rooms among a state-of-the-art facility.

“We’re gutting an old locker room and we’re expanding the strength-and-conditioning room,” Athletic Director Dick Dull said. “The training room will be upgraded to a Division I level, which it is not now. And the strength-and-conditioning facility will, probably, be as good as, if not better, anything in the Big West or the Big Sky [conferences].”
