1 Man Killed, 1 Hurt in Van Nuys Shooting
Police said Monday they have no leads in an early morning shooting in Van Nuys that left one man dead and another with a bullet wound to the leg.
LAPD officers answering a radio report of gunfire shortly after 1 a.m. arrived in the 14000 block of Valerio Street to find Francisco Nieto, 19, shot in the chest and Enrique Somar, 20, shot in the leg.
The men were taken by ambulance to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where Nieto died about half an hour later. Somar was treated and released.
Van Nuys Division homicide detectives are handling the investigation.
