Riordan Names 6 to Area Planning Panels
Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan made 11 appointments Tuesday to area planning commissions, including three each to the north and south San Fernando Valley panels.
The latest round of appointments, which must still be confirmed by the City Council, leave seven seats unfilled on the area and citywide planning commissions.
Those appointed to the North Valley Area Planning Commission include Ernesto Cardenas, corporate real estate manager; George Stavaris, corporate real estate associate, and Victor Sampson, a partner and chief financial officer of Coldwell Banker.
Those named to the South Valley Area Planning Commission include Matt Epstein, a Realtor; Janel L. Huff, economic development specialist, and Tsilah Burman, senior director for CB Richard Ellis Investors / Westmark Realty.
Riordan also appointed businessman Dwayne Norman Hall to the West Los Angeles panel, retired architect James Silcott to the South Los Angeles commission, chamber executive Joeann Valle and credit union executive Lucia Moreno-Linares to the Harbor panel, and consultant Yolanda Chavez to the East Area commission.
The new commissions are set to take over local planning decisions July 1.
