Advanced Photonix Wins $550,000 Raytheon Contract
Advanced Photonix in Camarillo received a $550,000 contract from Raytheon Co. for the detector fuse used on the Rolling Airframe Missile, which is designed to destroy anti-ship missiles.
The RAM guided missile weapon system is the world’s most modern ship self-defense weapon and has been specifically designed to provide protection for ships of all sizes. RAM is currently installed or planned for installation on 83 U.S. Navy and 28 German navy ships, and it has been ordered by the Korean navy.
Advanced Photonix designs and manufactures silicon photodetectors and other optoelectronic equipment.
