An Hour Or So With Friends: Friday night is usually reserved for dinner with friends. I love Orso on 3rd Street. I also like Farfalla in Los Feliz. It’s not posh or uptown, just comfortable and pleasant. Mr. Chow’s has wonderful Chinese food. And Spago’s is fun because you get to see friends who are all done up.

Joyous Obligations: I’m at the age now where I don’t have to do anything. But I do have to see my grandchildren--Kelsey, Andrew and Devon. We go to Sea World and Disneyland all the time. We haven’t been to Legoland yet, but that’s on the list. And I’m going to take them to see “The Lion King.”

Ramblin’ Woman: Sometimes what I do for fun with friends is go on a ramble. Most of the time you have to plan for everything. My life is always planned. When you ramble, you choose north, south, east or west and you just go. And when you see something you like, you stop. It could be anything--a flea market or restaurant. And if you find you don’t like it, you can just leave. You come across extraordinary little villages in the middle of the mountains. Or you can go in another direction and you’ve got the ocean.

Best Pictures: I love to go to the theater and movies, especially to see character-driven films. Foreign films are great because you get the best each country has to offer. I just saw “Butterfly,” “Saving Grace” and “An Affair of Love”--it just blew me away. I go to the Ahmanson and have season tickets for Los Angeles Opera.

Lazy Morning: Sunday I sleep late, read The Times, a luxury, and if I haven’t slept too late, have brunch at Victor’s on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood. It’s sort of like a New York cafeteria.
