CLEARING A CROWDED DANCE FLOOR
Coincidence or no, two films with “Dance” titles were re-christened before their fall unveilings. British theater director Stephen Daldry’s feature film debut, originally called “Dancer,” is now “Billy Elliot.” The Angelina Jolie-Antonio Banderas sizzler “Original Sin” had previously been going under the moniker “‘Dancing in the Dark.” Could it be that all the press “Dancer in the Dark” generated for its controversial wins at Cannes made an impression on the competition?
