After all the promos and pregame features, Vick hardly was in the picture in his first prime-time screen test of the season Thursday with six carries and 15 pass attempts in Hokies’ 45-28 victory over East Carolina.

Tomlinson, whose goal is to rush for 2,000 yards this season, is on pace for 1,936 after getting 176 in the Horned Frogs’ season-opening 41-10 victory over Nevada.

Quarterback, Purdue

Brees, who completed 32 of 48 passes for 415 yards and had 31 yards rushing in the Boilermakers’ 45-10 victory over Kent, passed Mark Herrmann as the school’s all-time leader in total yards (9,283) and completions (774). That’s the same Herrmann who was one of the three players the Denver Broncos traded to the then-Baltimore Colts to get John Elway in 1983.

Weinke was 25 for 38 for 443 yards and two touchdowns and became the Seminoles’ all-time passing leader (6,433 yards) in a 26-21 victory over Georgia Tech.
