SAN CLEMENTE
The City Council has approved a fire service plan and a new fire station site for the Talega development.
The city is preparing to have fire and medical services in place for the 4,900-home development by 2004.
A fire station will be built on the corner of Avenida Vista Hermosa and Calle Saluda. It is expected to open in January 2004. Talega Associates LLC is contributing a minimum of $1.5 million for the design and construction of the station.
The station and various road extensions being planned for the development will bring response times down to the city’s required five-minute maximum, according to a city staff report.
