Countdown to Olympics
* Days until opening ceremony: 4.
* Olympic update: Under a deal brokered by the IOC, athletes from North and South Korea will for the first time march as a single delegation in the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympics.
* March to the medals: After battling this weekend for the U.S. Open title, champion Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport now become teammates on the U.S. Olympic team.
* Carrying the torch: After surviving its second hijack attempt in five weeks, the torch arrived in Sydney on Monday afternoon aboard an 1896 passenger tram. On Sunday, a spectator grabbed the torch and tried to throw it in a harbor. On Aug. 7, in Melbourne, a man snatched the flame from a torchbearer and briefly ran with it before being stopped by police.
* Olympic footnote: The test run for the Olympic triathlon went off without a hitch--or a shark bite--as competitors tested out the course that includes a 1,500-meter swim in Sydney Harbor.
