Times Wins Best Feature
KANSAS CITY — A story about the disappearance of British farmhouse cheeses by the Los Angeles Times’ Emily Green was named best feature story of the year by the Assn. of Food Journalists. The Times Food section was also selected one of the best in the country by the group at its annual meeting here last week.
Green’s piece, which previously won a first place at the the British Cheese Awards, was also a finalist in the James Beard Journalism Awards.
The Times Food section placed third behind the first-place Chicago Tribune and the Washington Post in the newspapers with more than 300,000 circulation category. It was the second year in a row The Times’ section was named one of the best in the country.
The Assn. of Food Journalists, formerly known as the Newspaper Food Editors and Writers Assn., is the largest group of newspaper and magazine food journalists in the country.
