Stand-up comic Jay Mohr has an impressive list of TV credits, including two seasons as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” and a year on “The Jeff Foxworthy Show.” That’s not to mention his own short-lived 1999 Fox series, “Action,” a Hollywood satire about an obnoxious producer with an oversized ego. The New Jersey native with the rapier wit and rapid-fire delivery always dreamed of appearing on TV. At 7, he says, “I used to send my school pictures to the studios in Hollywood with letters saying simply, ‘Put me in your show.’ ”
* Jay Mohr, Irvine Improv, 71 Fortune Drive, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Also Friday, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.; Sunday, 7 and 9 p.m. $20 to $25. (949) 854-5455.
