* The San Francisco Mime Troupe’s “City for Sale!” opens the UC Santa Barbara Arts & Lectures season on Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. The political comedy deals with the yuppification of an urban neighborhood, which drives out longtime residents. At UCSB Campbell Hall. (805) 893-3535.

* “Danish Days--Velkommen!” is the annual celebration of Solvang’s Danish heritage. The town, north of Santa Barbara in the Santa Ynez Valley, celebrates Saturday and Sunday with a torchlight procession, aebleskiver feast, Danish parade, folk music and dancing, live entertainment and beer tasting. * The Ensemble Theatre Company opens its 2000-2001 season on Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. with “The Aspern Papers” by Michael Redgrave, adapted from the story by Henry James about a publisher obsessed with finding the personal papers of a famous poet. 914 Santa Barbara St. Ends Nov. 5. (805) 962-8606.

* “From Azaceta to Zuniga: 20th-Century Latin American Art,” opening Nov. 5, showcases the Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s holdings of 20th century Latin American art. The more than 100 works to be on display include many pieces by Mexican artists, as well as Cuban-born Luis Cruz Azaceta, Uruguayan Joaquin Torres-Garcia and others.
