Mission League Proposal Fails

Mission League principals failed Wednesday to approve a proposal that would have required students who transfer to schools within the league to sit out one season of varsity sports.

The vote was 5-3 in favor, with one abstention. Six votes were needed for passage.

Principal Gary Murphy of Chaminade High, who made the proposal, said he will make some changes and bring the proposal up for another vote in November. The proposal involves only students who transfer from one Mission school to another.
