The four remaining crewmen implicated in the Navy submarine Greeneville’s fatal collision with a Japanese fishing vessel have been disciplined.

The four were “admonished” by Capt. Tony Cortese, the Greeneville’s interim commander, ending the disciplinary action against those held responsible for the Feb. 9 collision that killed nine Japanese.

The four are Lt. Cmdr. Gerald Pfeifer, the submarine’s executive officer; Master Chief Douglas Coffman; and Petty Officer Edward McGibboney, the sonar supervisor.

Cortese held a nonjudicial captain’s mast for Petty Officer Patrick Seacrest, who failed to report the proximity of the Ehime Maru. He was admonished and counseled about his duties.
