The South girls, led by Kristen Mann’s 18 points and 11 rebounds, couldn’t keep up with the North’s team speed and fell behind, 45-31, at halftime. The South tried to make a game of it late in the second half, pulling within 80-75 with a minute left, but Troy’s Veronica Johns-Richardson (13 points) made three free throws to halt the comeback.

Monique Kettler of St. Margaret’s had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Carrie Twaddell of El Toro added 15 points and nine rebounds for the South.

The South boys led by as many as 13 in the first half, but the North opened the second half with a 16-2 run to grab a 10-point lead.
