Jogger Walks Into Hoag to Find Out Who He Is
A young man was admitted to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian on Wednesday after walking into the emergency room and announcing that he didn’t know who he was or where he lived.
“There is no obvious drug use, no obvious medical problems, and he doesn’t appear to be a transient,” said Sgt. Mike McDermott, a spokesman for the Newport Beach Police Department.
“He just looks like a regular guy who was out for a jog and developed some kind of memory gap.”
Police described the man as white, in his mid-20s, with short brown hair, blue eyes, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, 170 pounds, wearing a gray jogging pants and a T-shirt. “He is well-groomed, well-spoken and articulate,” McDermott said. “I’ve never heard of anything like this happening here before.”
