* The former head of technical and flight operations at Northwest Airlines, Stephen Gorman, was named North American president of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. Krispy Kreme said Gorman will be responsible for both company-owned and franchise store operations in North America.
* Kmart Corp., named Randy Allen to the new positions of executive vice president of strategic initiatives and chief diversity officer. Allen, 55, had been Kmart’s chief planning and information officer.
* Automatic Data Processing Inc., the largest provider of paycheck services, said its fiscal fourth-quarter profit rose 14% to $255.5 million, or 40 cents a share, missing analyst expectations by a penny. Sales increased 7.5% to $1.85 billion.
* BE Aerospace Inc. said it agreed to buy privately held M&M; Aerospace Hardware Inc. of Miami for at least $177 million in cash and stock to add aerospace fasteners to its line of products.
