California Amplifier Revises Forecast Downward
California Amplifier in Camarillo has revised downward its first-quarter sales and earnings forecasts for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2001, which ends Saturday.
Company officials said they expect sales to be in the range of $26 million to $27 million, with satellite product sales of about $14 million. Earnings per share are expected to be 6 to 7 cents per fully diluted share.
In December, the company projected sales of $29 million to $31 million for the fourth quarter, with earnings per share of 8 to 9 cents.
The downward revision in sales and earnings is largely due to customers who are decreasing their level of inventory and a delay in the introduction of a new product, company officials said.
The company will release fourth-quarter and fiscal year audited results April 19.
California Amplifier designs consumer and commercial products for video and data reception.
