Rodriquez defeated defending state and Masters champion Orlando Galvan of Loara to win the Southern

Rodriquez took seventh at
Masters
and state last year. It was the first time Rodriquez faced Galvan this season, and his 5-3 victory helped Calvary Chapel win the team title by more than 144 points. The Eagles advanced a record 10 wrestlers to this weekend’s state finals.

Scored three goals in victories over Redlands East Valley and Capistrano Valley that advanced Griffins to semifinals.

Had 27 points and 20 rebounds in quarterfinal win over Canyon and 17 points in second-round win over La Sierra.
Erika Figge
Santa Margarita, Water Polo
Figge scored seven goals in two games as Santa Margarita, which won the Southern Section Division IV girls’ water polo cham-
pionship
last season, earned a trip to this season’s
Division I title game against Foothill.
Figge had two goals in the second-seeded Eagles’ 8-5 semifinal victory over El Toro Friday. On Tuesday, she scored five goals and had two assists in Santa Margarita’s 12-6 victory over Los Alamitos.

Recorded 22 saves in two games, leading El Dorado to the semifinals for the first time in school history.
* Veronica Johns-Richardson
Troy, Basketball
Had 39 points, 17 assists, 17 rebounds and 15 steals in two games to help Troy advance to the Division I-A final.
