Danniebelle Hall, 63, gospel singer and songwriter whose works were recorded by Eartha Kitt and Pat Boone. Hall was best known as the featured singer with Andrae Crouch & the Disciples’ on 1970s hits such as “Soon and Very Soon,” “Take Me Back,” “Tell Them” and “Quiet Times.” She joined the group in 1972. Born in Pittsburgh, Hall grew up playing the piano. But she didn’t begin her singing career until she was 30 and a friend asked her to sing at church. She soon formed a San Francisco Bay Area gospel quartet called the Danniebelles, and toured with the Rev. Billy Graham. Hall often said physical problems--breast cancer and diabetes that cost her her left leg--made her religious strength stronger. On Thursday in Fremont, Calif., of complications from diabetes.
