REGIONAL PEOPLE

* Richard H. Savage, chairman of the board for Amwest Insurance Group Inc., has become chairman emeritus. Charles L. Schultz, a director of the company since 1995 and formerly senior vice president and chief financial officer of Farmers Insurance Group Inc., has been elected chairman of the board and interim chief executive. Chief Executive and President John E. Savage has become vice chairman of the board.

Calabasas-based Amwest is an insurance holding company underwriting surety and property and casualty insurance through Amwest Surety Insurance Co., Condor Insurance Co. and Far West Insurance Co.

* Wayne K. Goettsche has resigned as director and chairman of SATTEL Global Networks Inc. and George Weischadle has assumed the role of chairman. Darrel Cho has been replaced by Jill Luna as secretary and Rick Muller has been named as a director.

SATTEL builds satellite systems that deliver telephone and data services to remote areas of the world.

* Jason Netter has been named president of KickStart Productions, an animation and visual effects company based in North Hollywood. Netter moves from Netter Digital, where he was senior vice president of business development.

KickStart will work closely with Shanghai Digital Studio, the new digital division of Shanghai Film Studio in Shanghai, China, to create high-quality 3-D animation. Additionally, KickStart Productions and Shanghai Digital Studio will have the capacity to become financial co-production partners to produce original content for television.
