Brethren Christian 65, Capistrano Valley Christian 35--Liz Mack made four three-pointers and had 16 points for Brethren Christian (12-3). Bethany Thom had 19 points for Capistrano Valley Christian (10-2).

Los Alamitos 46, Compton Dominguez 29--Leading scorer Stephanie Duda, averaging 23 points, left with an ankle injury after six minutes and eight points for Los Alamitos, and no one scored in double figures for either team.

Mission Viejo 54, Tustin 30--Meghan O’Donogue had 26 points, including five three-pointers, as Mission Viejo beat Tustin a second time in four days.

Orange 49, Valencia 46--Rachelle Ramirez and Elizabeth Ngayan each scored 14 points for Orange (3-8) . JaNae Ferguson had 12 assists for Valencia (9-8).

Saddleback 40, Northwood 25--Alisa Carrillo played forward, center and guard, and had 23 points and 12 rebounds for Saddleback (10-3).

Whittier Christian 4, Downey Calvary Chapel 2--Abraham Santos, who came into the game with two goals this season, scored three for the Heralds (2-8).

In Garden Grove League girls’ soccer:

Garden Grove 1, Pacifica 1--Ashley Freed scored with less than 10 seconds remaining to salvage a tie for Pacifica in the league opener. Katie Petrick opened the scoring for Garden Grove (7-2-2, 0-0-1) with a unassisted goal in the second minute from 25 yards out.

In nonleague girls’ soccer: Orange Lutheran 4, Magnolia 1--Brooke Williams and Katrina Heynie each scored two goals.

Sonora 2, Santa Fe Springs Santa Fe 1--Amber Plumlee assisted on Sonora’s first goal by Natalie Souders and scored the game winner on a solo breakaway. Plumlee, the team’s leading scorer, has 13 goals. She was still recovering from the flu but gave Sonora exactly 11 players; seven others were out sick.
