Foreign Policy
* Isn’t the Taliban the same group of people we helped to fight against the Russians and that Hollywood depicted as martyrs fighting for freedom? Isn’t Manuel Noriega the same guy who worked for the CIA and later became public enemy No. 1? Isn’t Saddam Hussein the same person to whom we sold weapons to fight against the Iranians, and now we’re calling him “Satan”? Isn’t Augusto Pinochet the same Chilean general we helped to overthrow the democratic government of Salvador Allende, and now we want him tried for murder? Isn’t it curious how those whom we considered the good guys in the past are now seen as despicable? Isn’t it time we took a closer look at how we conduct foreign policy?
