Remember Kent State Coach Gary Waters. He has the look of a rising star.

In five seasons at Kent State, he has a winning percentage of .607 and has led the Golden Flashes to three consecutive 20-victory seasons and the school’s first NCAA tournament berth that resulted in a first-round upset of Indiana Thursday.

He was asked if he expects to hear from Michigan about its coaching job.

“That has come up before,” Waters said. “I am from Michigan. I think my name will come up in the issue. [But] I’ve never heard from them at all.”
