Watson Pharmaceuticals COO to Head Columbia Labs
* Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Corona-based maker of generic and brand-name drugs, said Chief Operating Officer Fred Wilkinson resigned to become president and chief executive of Columbia Laboratories Inc.
Columbia Labs, which develops pharmaceuticals for women, will announce the transition today, said spokesman James Apostolakis. William Bologna, who was CEO, will remain chairman of the Rockville Centre, N.Y., company, which is looking into alternative strategies that include a sale.

Former Democratic Sen. Robert Kerrey of Nebraska has joined the board of hospital operator Tenet Healthcare Corp. of Santa Barbara. Kerrey, who retired from the Senate in January, is president of New School University in New York.

Nicholas Westley has been promoted to chief strategy officer at United Systems Integrators Corp., an El Segundo-based corporate real estate services firm.

Peter F. Lake has joined Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Los Angeles as president and CEO. He most recently served as executive vice president and Western group regional manager for Fleet Capital Corp. in Los Angeles.

Michael Peikoff has been named senior vice president, marketing and client relations, for Sony Pictures Consumer Products in Culver City. Previously, Peikoff worked for Warner Bros. in the consumer products division, most recently as vice president.

Pasadena-based Cyrano Sciences has appointed Betsy Wallace to chief financial officer and Marie Alders to vice president of business development. Wallace recently served as a director of Citigroup’s Asia Pacific Business Development group in Singapore. Alders previously managed the strategic planning process for global and strategic accounts for International Flavors & Fragrances.
