Fans, critics and artists have wondered for years why the music of Los Angeles’ alternative hip-hop scene hasn’t found a wider audience. Maybe Black Eyed Peas has finally ended the drought. The trio’s single “Request Line” entered at No. 13 on the national sales chart, and at No. 8 in Southern California.
