2 Murder Suspects Escape From Jail
From Times Wire Reports
Two murder suspects escaped from jail in Austin, Minn., by beating a pair of guards and jumping out a second-story window, authorities said.
Police caught a third suspect who broke his leg after also leaping from the Mower County Jail in southeastern Minnesota. Vernon Powers Jr., 28, and Scot Christian, 30, remained at large, authorities said.
“We are checking every lead we have to find where they are at,” said Sgt. Steve Howard of the County Sheriff’s Department.
